Malaysia Not Bring Border Issues with RI to the International Court of Justice


Royal Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia, Dato Mohamed Zahrain Hashimmy said that border issues with Indonesia will not be until it is brought to the International Court of Justice. The reason, the issue of borders is a matter of sovereignty of the two countries, Malaysia and Indonesia.
"Malaysia does not want to bring this border issue to the International Court, because ultimately it concerns the issue of the two countries. It is only in regard to tolerance and the position given thing. This is related to the question of sovereignty," said said the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Malaysia to Indonesia, Dato Mohamed Zahrain Hashimmy in Malaysian Embassy, ​​Jl.HR. Rasuna Said, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Wednesday (07/08/2015).
Zahrain ambassador also confirmed that until this moment Malaysia has not received 7 notification of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Foreign Ministry) regarding the border issue. He also regretted that Indonesia does not provide notification related to the appointment of Special Representative / Special Envoy President for Determination of the Maritime Boundary between the Republic of Indonesia and Malaysia.
"We were not given notification. The Government of Malaysia read at a particular site. Indonesia also does not provide notification to Malaysia, that Indonesia has appointed a special envoy. He is a former Ambassador of Germany," he continued.
He also said that he will meet with Special Representative / Special Envoy of the President of Jokowi after Eid. It is hoped there will be a significant development after the meeting.
"The possibility after the Eid holiday my new special envoy will meet. From there recently viewed its development, may significantly," he said.
Previously reported on Thursday (06/11/2015), President Jokowi has appointed former Ambassador to Germany, Eddy Pratomo as Special Representative / Special Envoy for the Determination of the President of the Maritime Boundary between the Republic of Indonesia and Malaysia. The appointment of the Special Envoy of the President is a manifestation determination and earnest efforts of Indonesia to accelerate the completion of the determination of the maritime boundary between Indonesia and Malaysia.
